Ingredients:

* 1 cup milk powder

* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

* 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

* 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter), melted

* 2 tablespoons yogurt

* A pinch of cardamom powder

* Vegetable oil, for frying

* 1 cup sugar

* 1 cup water

* A few strands of saffron (optional)

* Chopped pistachios or almonds for garnishing

Instructions:

* In a mixing bowl, combine the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.

* Add the melted ghee and yogurt to the dry ingredients. Mix well to form a soft dough. If the dough is too dry, add a little more yogurt.

* Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into smooth balls, ensuring there are no cracks.

* Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the dough balls until golden brown, * stirring occasionally for even cooking. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

* In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring it to a boil, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves completely. Add saffron strands for added flavor and color, if desired. Simmer the syrup for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.

* Drop the fried dough balls (gulab jamuns) into the hot syrup and let them soak for at least 30 minutes, allowing them to absorb the syrup and become soft.

* Garnish the gulab jamuns with chopped pistachios or almonds before serving.

* Serve warm or at room temperature. Gulab jamuns can be enjoyed on their own or with a scoop of ice cream.

Note: Adjust the sugar syrup's sweetness according to your preference. You can also add rose water or a few drops of rose essence to enhance the flavor.
